Overview[]
The commander of the base where he works with the Cougar Squadron. Has turned down several promotions to stay on the front with Mutsuga Yamazaki. Feel some concern about Tochika Mozume and his "project."
Story[]
Lieutenant Colonel Kayaba was the base commander in charge of Cougar Squadron since long before Lynx was assigned to the unit. Kayaba was assigned Kildren to augment his squadron, but had no experience dealing with them. Over this issue made the mistake of questioning deputy Chief of Intelligence Mozume. Mozume had him transfered and replaced with Major Ushio a commanding but easily controllable man. Later when Mozume began his uprising Kayaba contacted Lynx via radio to request help in putting it down. Kayaba is later seen at the end apparently promoted to the leadership of Rostock.
